Brothers, Sir Knights, and Everyone in the community,
At our last Assembly 3026 meeting, we kicked off a small project that, hopefully, one day will become huge.
S/K Jerry Conte (VA Committee Chairman) obtained a list of approved and desired items that we can provide our wounded vets at the James Haley VA Hospital here in Tampa. Sir Knights were asked to start bringing some items to each meeting and Jerry will get them to the hospital. At the last night we had a table full of donated items from soaps to T-shirts. We will continue this endeavor at each of our 4th Degree meetings and social events.
The James A. Haley VA Hospital has one of only 4 Polytrauma Rehabilitation Centers in the Country. Wounded Vets arrive here most of the time with nothing on them but their clothes.
Now it is time to expand our efforts for everyone to get involved. Everyone from Brother Knights at all 3rd Degree Councils, to Parishoners, to Everyone in the Community. If everyone gave something the results would be very appreciated by our wounded soldiers who are recovering or rehabilitating at James A. Haley.

Attached is a short list of desired items. Feel free to provide one or, better yet, a handful of items. Bring something to every council meeting and ask any Knights of Columbus members to pass it along.

- Toothpaste ALL ITEMS MUST BE ALCOHOL-FREE

OTHER PATIENT NEEDS
- CLOTH WHEELCHAIR BAGS - for the “back” of wheelchairs, with loops or tie strings sewn in at the top on both sides, size 18" X 12"
- CLOTH FOLEY CATHETER BAGS (with draw strings across the top) - size 16" X 10"
- DITTY BAGS - 12" x 12"
- Will accept donated books in GOOD condition (paperbacks);
- Magazines in GOOD condition within 3-5 months new (weekly magazines no older than 2 months please)
- Word search puzzles.
- Gift certificates/cards to area restaurants and groceries for inpatients and their families who need assistance while helping their loved ones through the rehabilitation/recovery process.
